Oil and Gas Inspections

AmFlight serves the oil and gas industry and third parties engaged in surveying drill sites, inspection services, asset management and other customer defined services.  We provide industry operators with valuable up-to-date information about a prospective location or for remote management of drilling operations and the placement and monitoring of completion assets. Our services include both still and video photography using state of the art cameras and special sensors to gather data during all phases of a project.  We combine the technology of high resolution optical cameras, infrared, lidar, ultraviolet and gaseous detection sensors.   Once the data is collected, AmFlight then processes it and prepares a report for the operator. Data delivery can be delivered securely through a number of protected methods or by video streaming through VPN communications.

The type of aerial survey that we  use depends upon the assigned task and desired outcome.   AmFlight works closely with operators to customize a flight program that meets your specific needs.

Customers who benefit from aerial surveys and assessments are upstream, midstream and downstream operators; third parties conducting due diligence data collection; asset management and auditing teams; and third parties providing physical and preventive maintenance assessment of their facilities.

AmFlight inspection services include a collecting data through aerial flights designed to assist the downstream operators with asset management, site monitoring and/or preventive maintenance for managing a lease location.  The aerial images provide information about a drilling prospect through surveying a proposed drill site for asset planning.  This includes location of roadways cuts to the prospective drill site, placement of the drilling platform, storage tanks, mud pit, equipment, and other assets required for a drilling and completion project.  Aerial services may be contracted for an entire project with site surveys, monitoring drilling operations, completion and short/long maintenance of the compound.  Amflight also provides flare stack monitoring and tank farm and equipment inspections at the drill/completion site. These end to end solutions assist operators with a complete visual from site assessments for pre-construction to long term monitoring of completion assets.

Amflight provides midstream operators with asset management and critical unmanned aerial pipeline inspections.  We provide data to determine accurate GPS referenced locations with way points to verify the exact location of pipeline routes and right of way cuts.  Additionally, any vegetation encroachments, potential hydrocarbon seepage, or environmental endangerment can be identified. The first aerial surveillance provides the source way point locations of the pipeline route for future autonomous flights. Flights provide a visual inspection and the ability to collect valuable data to assist the downstream operators with lease information, asset management and/or preventive maintenance data about the lease location. The aerial images provide information about a drilling prospect through surveying a proposed drill site for asset planning.  This includes location of roadways cuts for the lease and placement of the drilling platform, storage tanks, mud pit, equipment, and other assets required for a drilling and completion project.  Aerial services may be contracted for an entire project with site surveys, monitoring drilling operations, and completion and short/long maintenance of the compound.  Amflight also provides flare stack monitoring and tank farm and equipment inspections at the drill/completion site.ual of the pipeline right of way, vegetation encroachments, hydrocarbon leaks or seepage, and methane leaks. Many upstream companies are using unmanned aircraft for visual and infrared (thermal) inspections, lidar and gaseous sensors to provide accurate source data for preventative maintenance programs. Aerial surveys of the upstream site for asset management is the most efficient and cost effective method for collecting and maintaining on-site assets. AmFlight utilizes sensors, cameras and applied technologies to provide source data for preventive maintenance programs.

Unmanned aircraft provides greater details about your project than does current aircraft while increasing safety for customers and employees and reducing costs.  Our services include these:
  • Location survey and assessment prior to drilling/completion
  • Asset management (visual inventory of tanks, pump jacks, plumbing integrity, environmental assessment, etc)
  • Oil and gas pipeline inspections
  • Pipeline right of way and encroachment surveys
  • Hydrocarbon emission detection
  • Environmental assessments
  • Flare monitoring and inspections
  • Offshore platform inspections
  • Refinery inspections
  • Tank farm inspections

Applied technology used by unmanned aircraft vehicles:

  • High resolution cameras to visually capture both still and video photography of the subject, examine onsite equipment, determine hydrocarbon stain evidence, survey, map, and calculate volumetrics.
  • Infrared (thermal imaging) to determine temperature differences in equipment, storage facilities, above and under ground.
  • Lidar technology to define vegetation and create a 3D visual of an area.
  • Ultraviolet sensors for detecting hydrocarbon florescence.
  • Gaseous (methane) sensors to detect methane seepage and leaks that are otherwise invisible.

AmFlight supports SCADA data compliant requirements for both data uploading and real time data streaming (where wireless VPN services are available.)
